On arrival to Saigon (Nha Rong Port or Hiep Phuoc Port), drive to Ben Tre, the gateway to the Mekong Delta. Escape the high-energy city for a day of exploring sprawling rice paddies and colorful fruit farms. Arrive at the quaint An Khanh hamlet, where travelers will visit a small home factory that makes the traditional dish of sticky rice covered by coconut leaves. Meet with the owner and her hard-working team who will teach you about how they use century-old traditional methods to make this special and tasty cake. Continue this rural journey of discovery with a short drive to meet a local family in Quoi Son village, where you can sample exotic fresh fruits in the orchard of a local fruit farmer. After wandering through the lush gardens of this village, a motorboat awaits your arrival to begin a thirty-minute excursion passing peaceful scenes of countryside living. Trade boat for bicycle and enjoy a relaxing ride over easy, level terrain as you travel through narrow village lanes lined with fruit orchards and customary cottages. Here you will take auto rickshaw through the lush surroundings of the fruit farms before boarding a sampan and cruise along the narrow canals of the Mekong. End your excursion at a local farmer's house where a lunch of Mekong Delta specialties will be served before driving back to Saigon.

Tour Description:
On arrival to Saigon (Nha Rong port or Hiep Phuoc port), disembark the ship and meet your guide. Drive south to the Mekong Delta passing by lush rice paddies and fruit farms emerging alongside the highway. At the local pier, board your day cruiser and take a 30-minute ride along Ben Tre’s scenic tributaries. Your first stop is Bao Island, where you’ll visit a Coconut Garden and savor fresh coconut water. Reboard the cruiser and continue to a coconut processing operation. Next, embark on a 4-kilometer bike ride through Huu Dinh village, stopping at a brick-making factory that still uses traditional methods. Afterward, cross the river and board a sampan for a peaceful 15-minute paddle through the small canals of Ben Tre province. Arrive at Mrs. Huong’s home, where you’ll enjoy tropical fruits and honey tea in her garden. Then, take a tri-motorcycle (xe loi) ride along narrow village roads shaded by coconut palm trees. Return to your cruiser and head to Mango Home Restaurant for a delicious lunch. After lunch, take a biciycle ride through My Long Village, visit Mr. Ba Tài’s house to learn about rice wine making. End your journey with a visit to Mr. Sau Tuong, a former Vietcong soldier, and watch him and his wife make rice paper, a famous My Long village specialty. Afterward, your boat will take you back to Ben Tre city, where your car will be ready to return you to Saigon. After the visit, the boat will be waiting for you at the pier nearby to bring you back to Ben Tre city where your car will be ready to take you back to Saigon.

On arrival in Danang (Tien Sa port), disembark the ship and meet your guide. Drive for 1 approximately hour to the ancient town of Hoi An. Between the 15th and 19th centuries, Hoi An known then as ‘Faifo’, was a prosperous trading port, attracting Chinese, Japanese, Dutch, Portuguese and Spanish ships amongst others. Today, this World Heritage ancient town is recognized for its well-preserved architecture, pedestrian-only streets and distinctive local cuisine, allowing visitors a glimpse of its illustrious past. Hoi An’s narrow lanes are ideal for a guided walking tour of its many atmospheric sights including: the old merchant houses with influences from Chinese, Japanese and Vietnamese architecture; the 400-year-old Japanese Covered Bridge, first built in the 1590s by the Japanese community to link them with the Chinese quarters across the stream; the Assembly Hall of the Chaozhou Chinese Congregation with its intricate woodcarvings; and the colorful market with stalls brimming with local specialties including silk, which can be turned into fashionable garments within a day or two.
Lunch is on your own.
After lunch, meet with Mr. Huynh Van Trung who was born in a traditional lantern making family and learn about the silk lanterns. Silk lanterns, the simple yet colorful handicraft is now an essential part of Hoi An culture. The lantern is inspired and hand-made by local artisans and is meant to bring good fortune. It has really made a comeback thanks to an experienced man - Trung inherits valuable skills in making lanterns from his father - the well-known artisan Huynh Van Ba. Chat with him for a brief introduction to the history, shape, and color of the lanterns as well as the stages of production. Try creating your own lantern and take it home as a souvenir. Later, transfer by road back to the port to embark the ship.
